Product details

The Hayward SPX1600TRA is the seal assembly kit for the Super Pump. It carries the replacement seal assembly, the housing gasket and the diffuser O-ring, which are the three sealing parts a Super Pump wet end needs when the shaft seal is changed.

Why the kit and not just the seal

The shaft seal sits behind the impeller, so getting to it means opening the housing and pulling the diffuser. Both of those joints have their own seal, and both are worth renewing while the pump is apart. Buying the kit means the gasket and the O-ring are already on the bench when you get there.

Fitment

Hayward lists this kit for the Super Pump SP1600, 1600X, 2600 and 2600X. The sealing parts are rubber, made to the original specification.
