The Hayward SPX1600T is the rubber housing gasket used on Hayward Super Pump and Max-Flo pumps. It is the seal at the joint between the pump housing and the seal plate.
What it does
The gasket sits in the split of the pump and keeps the wet end sealed under pressure. When it hardens with age, takes a permanent set or cracks, water finds the seam. The symptom is usually a slow drip at the housing joint, sometimes with the pump struggling to hold prime.
