Hayward 2" x 2" Super Pump Strainer Housing

The Hayward SPX1620AA is the strainer housing, the front pot of the pump that holds the basket, for Super Pump models with 2 in. x 2 in. ports. It is the genuine Hayward part.

Fitment

It fits Super Pump SP1600, SP1600X, SP2600 and SP2600X pumps plumbed in 2 in. Super Pumps plumbed in 1-1/2 in. take the 1-1/2 in. housing instead, so check the port size before ordering.

What is included

The housing only. The strainer lid, basket and housing gasket are separate and transfer over from the old housing if they are still in good condition. A new housing gasket is cheap insurance when the pump is apart.

When to replace

A housing cracked by a freeze, a lid seat worn so the pump pulls air, or damaged port threads are the usual reasons. Replacing the housing keeps the rest of the pump in service.
