Product details

The Hayward SPX1620AA is the strainer housing, the front pot of the pump that holds the basket, for Super Pump models with 2 in. x 2 in. ports. It is the genuine Hayward part.

Fitment

It fits Super Pump SP1600, SP1600X, SP2600 and SP2600X pumps plumbed in 2 in. Super Pumps plumbed in 1-1/2 in. take the 1-1/2 in. housing instead, so check the port size before ordering.

What is included

The housing only. The strainer lid, basket and housing gasket are separate and transfer over from the old housing if they are still in good condition. A new housing gasket is cheap insurance when the pump is apart.

When to replace

A housing cracked by a freeze, a lid seat worn so the pump pulls air, or damaged port threads are the usual reasons. Replacing the housing keeps the rest of the pump in service.

Which Super Pumps does this housing fit?
The Super Pump SP1600, SP1600X, SP2600 and SP2600X series with 2 in. suction and discharge plumbing.
My pump is plumbed in 1-1/2 in. Is this the right housing?
No. This is the 2 in. x 2 in. housing. Super Pumps with 1-1/2 in. ports take the 1-1/2 in. strainer housing instead.
Does the lid or basket come with it?
No. This is the housing only. The strainer lid, basket and housing gasket are separate parts and can be moved over from the old housing if they are in good shape.
Why would I replace the housing?
Cracks from freezing, a lid seat worn to the point that the pump draws air, or damaged threads at the ports are the common reasons.
