Hayward Genuine OEM Max Rate Threaded Shaft Motor 2 HP

The Hayward SPX1615Z1M is the 2 HP max rate threaded shaft motor used on three of Hayward's most common pumps: the Super Pump SP1600X and SP2600X series, the Super II SP3000X series and the Max-Flo SP2800X series. It is the genuine Hayward part, so it bolts to the seal plate and takes the impeller without adapters.

Electrical

The motor is dual voltage, 115 or 230 volts at 60 Hz. Check the voltage setting on the motor against your supply before you wire it, because a 230 V feed into a motor set for 115 V will not last long.

While the pump is apart

Removing the motor means separating the seal plate from the housing and pulling the impeller, which disturbs the shaft seal. Fit a new seal and look over the housing gasket and o-rings before you close it back up; it is far cheaper than doing the job twice.
