Product details

The Hayward SPX2610CKIT is the factory drivetrain upgrade kit for the 1-1/2 HP Super Pump, SP1600X series. It replaces the working parts inside the pump in a single kit.

What is in it

The pump internals: the motor mounting plate, the seal plate, the mechanical seal, the impeller, the diffuser and the diffuser o-ring. That is everything between the motor shaft and the pump housing.

When it is the right repair

A Super Pump that has lost flow, whines, or leaks at the seal usually has a worn wet end rather than a failing motor. If the motor still spins freely and runs cool, replacing the drivetrain brings the pump back for a fraction of a new pump. It also saves ordering half a dozen part numbers separately and finding one of them is wrong.

Before you start

Confirm the horsepower on the pump label. This kit is the 1-1/2 HP version, and the other Super Pump sizes use their own kits.

No. This is the drivetrain only. It fits to the motor you already have, which is the point of the kit when the motor is still good.

Why replace the whole drivetrain instead of one part?

The internals wear together. An impeller worn enough to cost flow usually sits behind a tired seal and a scored seal plate, and the kit replaces the set for close to the cost of the pieces.
