Why a pack of four

Four is a set for one motor. It is rarely worth replacing one screw and leaving three originals in place, because the ones you did not touch are the same age and have had the same weather.

The motor cap screws sit right in the weather on the equipment pad, and after a few seasons they corrode into the threads. Most people find this part after rounding off a head trying to get a motor apart. Ordering the set ahead of a motor job saves the extraction.
