Product details

The Hayward SPX3000F is the motor mounting plate for the Super II pump. It is the molded plastic plate the motor sits on, and it holds the motor square to the seal plate so the shaft and impeller stay in line.

Why it fails

The plate takes the whole weight of the motor and every knock the pump receives. Cracks through the feet, broken mounting bosses and distortion from over tightened hardware are the usual reasons it comes out. A pump running on a broken plate sits off line, which puts the shaft seal under load it was never meant to carry.

Fitting notes

Hayward lists this part across the Super II, the Super Spa pump in the SP-3500 uprated group and the Leslie Hydramax II pumps. Since the motor has to come off to change the plate, it is the natural moment to look at the shaft seal and the seal plate as well.
