The Hayward SPX3000D is the clear hand knob strainer cover for the Super II SP3000 and SP3000X pump series. It is the genuine Hayward replacement, in plastic, with the knob molded in so it tightens by hand.
Why lids fail
The strainer cover is the one part of a pump that is opened every week. Sun, heat and repeated tightening craze the plastic until it cracks, and a cracked lid pulls air rather than water. A pump that loses prime, spits air at the returns or runs with a half full basket is very often telling you about its lid.
What is included
This is the cover itself, with its hand knob. The lid o-ring is a separate part, and since a new cover will only seal as well as the ring under it, that is worth checking while the pump is open. The cover is also listed under Heldor EZ-Flo pump parts.
