Product details

The CMP 27182-207-000 is a heavy duty strainer basket for Hayward® Super II™ pumps. It is made by CMP rather than by Hayward®.

Measurements

5-3/4 in. across the top, 9-1/8 in. in height and 5 in. across the bottom. Measure the basket you are replacing before ordering, since strainer pots that look similar take different baskets.

Why the basket matters

Everything the skimmer misses ends up here. The basket is the last thing between leaves, grit and the impeller, and a cracked basket or a broken handle quietly stops doing that job while still looking like it is in place. Debris then reaches the impeller and the shaft seal, which turns a cheap part into an expensive one. Check the basket each time you empty it and change it as soon as the mesh splits.

Is this a Hayward® part?
No. It is a CMP made basket compatible with the Hayward® Super II™ pump, part number 27182-207-000.
What size is it?

How do I know my basket needs replacing?
Look for cracks in the mesh, a split rim or a broken handle. Any of those lets debris past into the pump, and a basket that does not seat properly is as bad as no basket at all.
Can I run the pump without a basket for a while?
No. The basket is what keeps leaves and grit off the impeller and the seal. Running without one risks damage that costs far more than the basket.
