The CMP 27182-207-000 is a heavy duty strainer basket for Hayward Super II pumps. It is a generic replacement, made by CMP rather than by Hayward, at a lower price than the branded basket.

5-3/4 in. across the top, 9-1/8 in. in height and 5 in. across the bottom. Measure the basket you are replacing before ordering, since strainer pots that look similar take different baskets.

Why the basket matters

Everything the skimmer misses ends up here. The basket is the last thing between leaves, grit and the impeller, and a cracked basket or a broken handle quietly stops doing that job while still looking like it is in place. Debris then reaches the impeller and the shaft seal, which turns a cheap part into an expensive one. Check the basket each time you empty it and change it as soon as the mesh splits.
