Product details

The Hayward SPX3000B is the replacement diffuser for the Super II pump, covering the 1/2 HP to 1-1/2 HP full rated and 2-1/2 HP to 3 HP up rated models. It is the genuine Hayward part and is also listed for the Heldor EZ-Flo.

What the diffuser does

The diffuser sits over the impeller and directs the water thrown off it into the pump volute. The gap between the two is part of how the pump makes pressure, so when a diffuser cracks, warps from heat or wears at the eye, water simply recirculates inside the housing. The pump sounds normal and the motor draws current, but the flow at the returns falls off.

Before you order

Check the horsepower and the full rated or up rated marking on your motor label, since Hayward splits Super II diffusers by that range. This listing is the diffuser only. The gasket that seals it, the impeller and the impeller ring are ordered separately if they are worn too.

Will this fit my Super II?
It covers the Super II pumps rated 1/2 HP to 1-1/2 HP full rated and 2-1/2 HP to 3 HP up rated. Check the horsepower and the rating on your motor label before ordering.
What is the difference between full rated and up rated?
It is how the motor horsepower is stated. Read your motor label, since the same physical pump body is sold both ways and this diffuser is listed against both ranges.
What does the diffuser actually do?
It surrounds the impeller and guides the water leaving it into the pump volute. That clearance is part of how the pump builds pressure, so a worn or broken diffuser costs flow.
Does it come with the gasket or the impeller?
No. This listing is the diffuser. The diffuser gasket, the impeller and the impeller ring are separate Hayward parts.
