Product details

The Hayward SPX3021B is the replacement diffuser for Super II pool pumps in the 1-1/2 HP through 3 HP full rate range. It is the genuine Hayward part, molded in plastic like the one it replaces.

What the diffuser does

The diffuser sits over the impeller and directs the water leaving it into the volute. That shaping is what turns impeller speed into pressure and flow. A diffuser that is cracked, warped, or worn around the impeller opening lets water slip back instead of moving forward, and the pump loses output even though the motor sounds exactly the same.

Match the horsepower

Hayward uses different diffusers across the Super II range, so horsepower matters when you order. This one covers 1-1/2 HP to 3 HP full rated pumps and also serves the Heldor EZ-Flo pumps built on the same body.

Because the pump has to come apart to reach the diffuser, it is a good moment to look at the diffuser gasket, the impeller ring and the seal plate. Those are separate parts and all of them are far easier to change now than on a second teardown.
