Product details

The Hayward SPXHKIT2 is the quick fix kit for Super II pumps in the SP3000 and SP3000X series. It gathers the parts a leaking pump usually needs into a single order.

What you get

A strainer cover o-ring, a housing gasket, a seal assembly, a diffuser gasket and lube. Between them those cover the lid, the split between the housing and the seal plate, the shaft and the diffuser.

Why do them all together

The pump has to come apart for any one of these repairs. Once it is open, the labor is already spent, and the remaining seals are the same age as the one that failed. Doing the set is why the kit exists.

Symptoms

Water weeping around the strainer lid, a drip appearing behind the seal plate, or a pump that will not hold prime are the usual reasons to reach for this kit.

What is in the kit?

Which pumps does it fit?
Hayward Super II pumps in the SP3000 and SP3000X series.
My pump is leaking at the lid. Is this the right kit?
The strainer cover o-ring in this kit is the part that seals the lid. Because the kit also covers the shaft seal and the housing and diffuser gaskets, it makes sense to do the lot while the pump is open.
Do I need lube separately?
No. Lube is included, which is what the o-rings need on reassembly.
