Product details

The Hayward SPX3007C is the genuine impeller for Super II pumps built after 1987, rated 3/4 HP full rated and 1 HP maximum rated.

The two horsepower numbers

Full rated and maximum rated are two ways of describing the same motor and impeller combination, which is why one part carries both figures. If your pump is labelled 3/4 HP full rated or 1 HP up rated, this is the impeller for it.

The 1987 split

Hayward changed the Super II impeller design, and parts before and after that change are not interchangeable. SPX3007C is the later part, for pumps built in 1988 and after. Confirm the age of the pump, or match the number stamped on the old impeller, before ordering.

While the pump is open

Getting to the impeller means the wet end is already apart. That is the sensible time to look at the diffuser, the impeller ring and the shaft slinger, all of which wear alongside the impeller and cost far less than a second teardown.
