Product details

The Hayward SPX3000T is the rubber housing gasket used on 3000 series pumps. Hayward lists it for the Super II SP3000 and SP3000X and for the Heldor EZ-Flo, and the same part shows up in the Leslies Hydramax II parts listing for models SP-LE40010 through 40019.

What it seals

The gasket sits at the joint where the pump housing meets the seal plate. It has to hold that face watertight while the pump runs under suction on one side and pressure on the other. Over years of heat cycling the rubber hardens, takes a permanent set and loses the squeeze it needs, which shows up as a slow weep at the seam rather than an obvious leak.

When to change it

Any time the pump comes apart, this gasket is worth replacing rather than reusing. Refitting a compressed gasket onto a clean face is the most common reason a rebuilt pump still drips.
