What a worn impeller costs you
Vanes thin out with years of grit passing through them and the passages pack with hair and leaf fiber. The motor still draws its current and the pump still sounds normal, but head drops off, returns go soft and a pressure or suction cleaner starts stalling. Because the mechanical seal has to come off to reach the impeller, plan on a new seal assembly in the same visit.
