The Hayward SPX1600V is the 1/4 inch drain plug for Super and Super II pumps built in 1991 and prior. It is the genuine Hayward part, in plastic.
The plug that does the most work
Almost every other part of a pump stays where it is. The drain plug comes out at the end of every season so the housing can empty before the first freeze, and goes back in every spring. That handling is what wears the thread and rounds off the head, until one autumn it will not come out at all.
Before you order
Two things to check. That your pump is a Super or Super II from 1991 or earlier, and that you need the 1/4 inch size. If you want the version supplied with a gasket, that is a different Hayward part number.
