Waterway Pump Seal Kit 319-3010B (PS200)

The Waterway 319-3010B is the genuine pump seal kit, the PS200 shaft seal used in Waterway Viper and EX2 wet ends. It comes as a matched set, the spring loaded rotating half and its seat.

What the seal does

The shaft seal is what keeps pool water inside the wet end where the motor shaft passes through. It is a wear item by design, running against a mating face every hour the pump turns. Running the pump dry, even briefly, is what usually kills one, because the faces rely on water for lubrication and cooling.

Why the leak matters

When the seal goes, water runs down the back of the housing and onto the motor end bell. Left alone, that water finds the front bearing and the winding, and a cheap seal job turns into a motor replacement. A steady drip from between the motor and the wet end is a job worth doing that week.

Fitting it

Replace both halves together. Keep the ceramic seat and the carbon face clean and dry when you press them in, and check the shaft and impeller hub for scoring while the pump is apart.
