Product details

Waterway 319-3230 is the factory strainer basket for the 6 inch pump trap, supplied with its molded handle. It is the same basket Waterway fits at the plant.

What the basket does

Every bit of leaf litter, hair and grit the basket holds is debris that never gets to the impeller or the shaft seal. That is the whole job. A basket that has split, cracked or lost its shape still looks like it is working, but it is passing material straight through to the wet end, so it is worth replacing at the first sign of damage rather than waiting for the pump to lose prime.

Before you order

This is the 6 inch trap basket. Waterway builds more than one trap size, so measure the inside of your trap body before ordering. It is the basket used on Waterway Hi-Flo and center discharge pump strainer traps.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Will this fit my Waterway pump?
It is the basket for the 6" pump trap. Measure the inside of your trap first, since Waterway builds more than one trap size.
Does it come with a handle?
Yes. The handle is part of the basket, so a full basket lifts out in one motion.
Is this a genuine Waterway part?
Yes. It is Waterway 319-3230, the factory basket rather than a copy.
How do I know when the basket needs replacing?
When it cracks, splits or loses its shape. A damaged basket lets debris reach the impeller, which is a much more expensive repair than a basket.
