What the basket does
Everything the skimmers and the main drain pull in arrives at this basket. It holds leaves, twigs and hair so they never reach the impeller. When the lattice cracks or the rim splits, debris finds the gap, and an impeller that clogs or a shaft seal that scores costs far more than the basket did.
Fit
The basket measures 7-11/16 inches tall, 5-3/4 inches across the top and 3-3/8 inches at the bottom. Pentair uses it on WhisperFlo WF and WFE pumps, on the IntelliFlo VS 3050 and VF, on the QuietFlo Aquatron pumps, and on the older Purex Triton versions of the same wet end. Measure your old basket if you are working from an unbadged pump.
Keep it clean
Empty the basket before it fills. A packed basket starves the pump, and a starved pump runs hot and loses prime.
