Product details

The Pentair 400007Z is the replacement strainer basket for the WhisperFloXF and IntelliFloXF pumps. It is the genuine Pentair part, sized 6 in x 11.5 in x 7 in.

What the basket does

Everything the skimmers and main drain pull in passes through this basket before it reaches the impeller. It catches leaves, twigs and larger grit so the impeller stays clear and the pump keeps its flow. It is a simple part doing an unglamorous job, and the pump depends on it.

When to replace it

Baskets go brittle with time, chemistry and sun, and eventually crack around the rim or split down a side. A basket that no longer holds its shape or has an obvious break is letting debris through even when it looks like it is still working, so it is worth changing on sight rather than waiting for a blocked impeller.
