Product details

The Pentair 356172Z is the lid assembly for the IntelliFlo3 pool pump, in almond. It is the genuine Pentair part, supplied as a complete assembly.

Why the lid is what fails

A pump lid takes constant sun on one side and chlorinated water on the other. Over the years the clear plastic clouds and crazes, first making the basket hard to inspect and eventually cracking. A cracked lid pulls air, and a pump pulling air loses prime and stops moving water even though nothing is wrong with the motor.

Fitting

This lid is listed for the IntelliFlo3. Earlier IntelliFlo pumps use their own lids and are not interchangeable, so confirm the model on your pump. The lid o-ring is a separate Pentair part; if the old one is flat, hard or nicked, change both at once rather than fitting a new lid onto a tired seal.
