Product details

The Pentair 356237Z is the impeller assembly for the IntelliFlo 3.0 Energy Star variable speed pump. It is the genuine Pentair part, supplied as a complete assembly.

What the impeller does

The impeller is the spinning part inside the wet end that actually moves the water. Everything downstream of it, filter pressure, heater flow, cleaner drive, depends on it being intact. When the vanes wear, crack or pack with debris, the pump draws the same power but delivers less water, and the whole system feels sluggish at every speed setting.

While the pump is open

The shaft seal sits directly behind the impeller, so the rebuild seal set is the usual companion part on this job. The diffuser assembly seats against the impeller and is worth a look at the same time, since a cracked diffuser produces the same loss of flow.

What are the signs of a bad impeller?
Low flow and weak returns at speeds that used to be fine, or a rattle from the wet end. Debris packed into the vanes or a cracked shroud both show up the same way.
