Product details

The Pentair 356091Z is the replacement seal plate for the 3HP IntelliFlo3 pool pump, supplied in almond. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the seal plate does

The seal plate sits between the motor and the wet end and carries the shaft seal. Everything about keeping water out of the motor depends on that plate being flat, unbroken and true at the seal bore. Cracks around the bore or at the mounting bosses are the usual reason a pump keeps weeping after a fresh shaft seal has already been fitted.

Before you order

Check the horsepower on the pump label. This plate is specified for the 3 HP IntelliFlo3. It is supplied as the plate on its own, so order the shaft seal and gaskets alongside it if you are opening the pump anyway.

Why replace a seal plate rather than just the seal?
Because a plate that is cracked, warped or worn at the seal bore will not hold a new seal square. If the pump still drips after a seal change, the plate is the next thing to check.
