Product details

The Pentair 400004Z is the genuine motor base for the WhisperFlo XF pump. It is the molded base the motor sits on and bolts through to the equipment pad.

Where it is used

Beyond the WhisperFlo XF, this base is listed with the IntelliFlo XF VSF and IntelliFlo XF VS pumps manufactured after August 2015. If your pump is an XF but predates that change, check the part number on the base you are removing before you order.

Why bases fail

A pump base leads a hard life. Water sits in it, freezes and splits it, mounting bolts get pulled down too far, and constant vibration works cracks wider. Once the base is broken the pump rocks on the pad, which puts load on the plumbing joints and the shaft seal. Replacing the base is a straightforward way to put the pump back on solid footing.
