The Pentair 357156 is the chemical resistant strainer cover for the WhisperFlo pump, molded in blue tinted PVC. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the chemical resistant version buys you

Pump lids live in a hard spot. A pot that sits near a chemical feeder, or takes splash at the equipment pad, attacks an ordinary lid until it goes cloudy, crazes and eventually cracks. This cover is molded to resist that, and the blue tint keeps enough visibility to check the basket and the water level without opening the pot.

When to replace

A crazed or distorted lid stops sealing, and the pump then draws air instead of water. If the pump is losing prime, running noisy or showing air in the pot, look at the lid and the o-ring before chasing the plumbing.

What is included

The cover only. The lid o-ring and the clamp are separate Pentair parts, and it is worth fitting a fresh o-ring while the lid is off.
