Why an impeller gets replaced

Impellers are matched to horsepower, and they fail quietly. Flow drops, the pressure gauge reads low, the skimmer stops pulling the way it used to, and everyone blames the filter first. A worn impeller, or one with vanes packed solid with debris that will not flush out, is the actual cause more often than owners expect.

Do the whole wet end

The shaft seal, the rubber impeller washer gasket and the seal plate gasket are separate items. The labor is in opening the pump, so anything that seals in there should be new when it closes back up.
