WhisperFlo WF-8 and WF-30, WFDS-8 and WFDS-30, WFE-30 and WFK-8. WhisperFlo impellers are matched to motor horsepower, so read the model off the pump label rather than going by size alone.

What a worn impeller does

The impeller is what moves the water. Debris packs into the vanes, or the vanes themselves wear thin and lose their edge, and the pump turns at full speed while the returns barely move. If the basket and filter are clean and the flow is still down, the impeller is where to look.

While the pump is open

The shaft seal sits directly behind the impeller and is exposed the moment the impeller comes off, so it is the standard companion replacement. The diffuser wears alongside the impeller and is worth inspecting in the same job.

Will it fit a smaller WhisperFlo?
No. WhisperFlo impellers are matched to the horsepower of the motor. Read the model number off the pump label and order the impeller for that rating.
What should I replace at the same time?
The shaft seal. It sits directly behind the impeller, so it is already exposed once the impeller comes off, and a seal and gasket kit is the usual companion order.
How do I know the impeller is the problem?
Weak return flow with a clean basket and filter points at the wet end. Pull the impeller and look for debris packed in the vanes, or vanes that have worn thin or broken.
