Product details

Pentair 357151Z is the clear strainer cover for WhisperFlo pumps, the see through lid that sits on the strainer pot. Pentair also lists it under 357151 and for Purex Triton pool pumps.

Read the pot without opening it

A clear lid turns the strainer pot into a gauge. You can see whether the basket is loading up, whether the pump is holding prime, and whether air is collecting at the top, all without shutting down and cracking the lid open.

The compatibility that catches people

This lid is for the newer cam and ramp style plastic lock ring only. It is not compatible with the older metal clamp assembly. Pentair dates the change to WhisperFlo pumps built after 11/1998, so a pump older than that almost certainly takes the other design. The cover measures 6 1/2 in across, which is the quickest way to check what you have.

While you are in there

The lid o-ring is a separate part and it is the usual cause of an air leak at the pot. A new clear lid on a hardened, flattened o-ring will still suck air, so replace both together.

How do I know if I have the cam and ramp style?
Look at the ring that holds the lid down. The newer style is a plastic ring that twists onto ramps on the pot. The older style is a metal clamp that bolts around the rim, and this lid will not work with it.
Does the o-ring come with it?
The listing is the clear lid. The lid o-ring is a separate part, and it is worth replacing at the same time since a new lid on a flattened o-ring still leaks air.
Will it fit a Purex Triton?
Yes. Pentair lists this cover for Purex Triton pool pumps as well as WhisperFlo.
What size is the lid?
6 1/2 in in diameter.
