Product details

The Pentair 400002Z is the XF Series seal plate for the WhisperFlo XF pump. It is the genuine Pentair part.

One piece, two views

The photographs show the front and the back of the same casting. The part does not arrive in two pieces. It is listed both as the XF Series seal plate and as the volute, so do not be thrown by seeing the two names against one part number.

What it does

The seal plate is the wall between the wet end and the motor. The motor shaft passes through it, the shaft seal sits in it, and the impeller runs just in front of it. A hairline crack in the plate, or a seal bore chewed out by a spun seal, will keep eating new shaft seals until the plate itself is replaced.
