Product details

The Pentair 350015Z is the volute casing for the WFE, in almond. Pentair also lists it as the WhisperFlo strainer pot, and both names describe the same casting.

What it is

This is the main housing at the front of the pump: the part that holds the strainer basket, takes the suction plumbing, and forms the volute that the impeller spins inside. It is the piece that sees full suction and full pressure every time the pump runs.

Which pumps

Pentair lists it for use with the WFE pump and pot, WhisperFlo High Performance pumps, the IntelliFlo i1 VS, the IntelliFlo VS, the IntelliFlo VS 3050 and VS + SVRS High Performance pump, and the IntelliFlo VF. Match the almond color as well as the model when you are ordering.

When to replace it

Cracks are the usual reason. Water left in the pot over a hard freeze splits the housing, and a split on a pressurized suction line is not something to patch. The strainer basket, lid and lid o-ring are separate parts, so it is worth checking them while the pump is apart.

Is this the volute or the strainer pot?
Both names refer to this same part. Pentair lists it as the volute casing for the WFE and also describes it as the WhisperFlo strainer pot.
Which pumps does it fit?
The WFE pump and pot, WhisperFlo High Performance pumps, IntelliFlo i1 VS, IntelliFlo VS, IntelliFlo VS 3050 and VS + SVRS High Performance, and the IntelliFlo VF.
Does the basket or lid come with it?
No. The strainer basket, the lid and the lid o-ring are separate Pentair parts, so order them alongside if yours are worn.
My pot cracked over the winter, is this the part?
Yes, if the crack is in the casing itself. A freeze split housing is not something to seal or epoxy on a pressurized suction line, so the casing gets replaced.
