The Pentair 400000Z is the XF Series wet end assembly for WhisperFlo XF and IntelliFlo XF variable speed pumps. It is the genuine Pentair part, not an aftermarket housing.
What you get
The assembly arrives with the wet end housing lid and locking ring assembly, the basket, the lid o-ring, two drain plugs and two drain plug o-rings. That covers the parts that normally have to be sourced one at a time when a wet end is rebuilt.
When to replace the whole wet end
Individual parts are worth chasing while the housing is sound. Once the housing itself is cracked, warped by heat, or worn where the lid seals, patching it costs more time than it saves. Swapping the complete wet end onto the existing motor puts the pump back to a known good state.
