This is the Astral lid label for the 1-1/2 inch multiport valve, the printed decal that marks the handle positions on the valve lid.
Why it matters
A multiport valve has no feel to it. Nothing tells you whether the handle is on filter, backwash, rinse, waste or closed except the label on the lid. Sun and chlorine bleach that label out within a few seasons, and from then on every backwash is guesswork. Running a valve in the wrong position can dump a pool to waste or push dirty water back into it.
