Product details

This is the Astral replacement filter o-ring, part 721R1820060, with a 7.5 inch inside diameter. It seals the filter housing on the models it is listed for.

Where it goes

Astral lists it for the Persius 1800 series top mount sand filter and for the Cantabric sand 3000 series in both top mount and side mount configurations. Before ordering, measure the ring you are pulling out across the inside opening and compare it to the 7.5 inch figure, since filter o-rings that look alike often are not.

Fitting it

Clean the groove and the sealing face before the new ring goes in, and use a silicone based o-ring lubricant. That helps the ring seat evenly instead of rolling as the housing closes, and it keeps the ring from bonding to the housing so the next service is straightforward.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size is this o-ring?
The inside diameter is 7.5 inches. Measure the ring you are replacing across the inside before you order, since filter o-rings of similar looks can be an inch apart.
Which Astral filters does it fit?
It is listed for the Persius 1800 series and for Cantabric sand 3000 series filters, in the top mount and side mount versions.
Should I grease it?
A silicone based o-ring lubricant is the usual practice. It helps the ring seat without rolling and stops it sticking to the housing next time you open the filter.
My filter leaks at the seam. Is this the fix?
It is the first thing to check. An o-ring that has gone flat, hard or split will let the housing weep under pressure, and a fresh ring usually ends it. If the leak stays, look at the clamp and the sealing face for damage.
