This is the genuine 1-1-216 stainless steel dome strainer, the screen that sits in the Caretaker style water valve and keeps debris out of the valve internals.

Where it fits

It is listed for the Zodiac Jandy Caretaker valve models 5-9-2000 and 5-9-2200, and also for the Zodiac Jandy EnvironPool and Dust&Vac valve models 5-9-3000 and 5-9-3010. Check the number stamped on your valve body before ordering, because the valve families look similar from the outside.

Why it matters

The water valve is the part that steps flow from one floor zone to the next, and it depends on clean water to index reliably. The dome strainer is the last screen before that mechanism.
