Product details

The Polaris D36 is the tube type strainer for the Polaris 180 pressure side pool cleaner. It is the genuine Polaris part.

What it does

The 180 runs on water pushed to it from the pool system, and that water carries whatever the plumbing carries. The strainer sits in the feed path and screens grit and debris out before it reaches the cleaner. It is a small part guarding parts that cost a great deal more.

When to look at it

A strainer that has loaded up restricts flow, and the symptom is a cleaner that has gone slow, stopped climbing or lost its pattern. Before assuming the booster pump or the head is at fault, pull the strainer and look at it. If it is packed, torn or collapsed, replace it.

What does the strainer do?

My 180 has slowed down. Could this be it?
