Product details
The Polaris C80 is the genuine turbine ball bearing for the Polaris 180 and Polaris 280 pressure side cleaners. It is the bearing that holds the turbine drive shaft. Polaris also lists it as C-80 and PVC80. It is sold each.
Why it matters
Everything the cleaner does starts at the turbine. Water pressure spins it, the drive shaft carries that motion into the gearbox, and the wheels do the rest. The turbine bearings are what let the shaft turn without friction, and once they wear the whole chain gets sluggish.
The symptom
A Polaris that has noticeably slowed down is the classic case. Before assuming the wall fitting, the hose or the booster pump is to blame, pull the turbine and check these bearings and the drive shaft. They are inexpensive, and replacing both at once usually brings the cleaner back up to pace.
