Product details

The Polaris B20 is the genuine sweep hose adjustment screw for the 180, 280, 280 Tank Trax, 360 and 380 pressure side pool cleaners. It is the part that meters how much flow is sent to the tail sweep.

What it controls

The tail sweep is what a Polaris uses to lift debris off the floor and out of corners ahead of the cleaner. The adjustment screw decides how much of the incoming flow is diverted to that hose. Too little and the sweep barely stirs, too much and the cleaner loses drive while the tail thrashes.

When to change it

The screw lives in the water path and wears. If the sweep will not behave no matter how it is set, the screw itself is the usual culprit. It is a small enough part that most techs replace it as a matter of course during a cleaner overhaul, along with the sweep hose and its attachment clamp.
