The Polaris G58 is the genuine o-ring kit for the Polaris back-up valve, part G52, used on the 380, 360, 280, 180 and 3900 Sport pool cleaners.
What the back-up valve does
The back-up valve interrupts normal operation on a schedule and drives the cleaner backwards to free it from steps, corners and drains. It works by pressure, so its seals do all the work, and they are what wears.
Seals before a new valve
A valve that weeps, loses pressure or will not cycle properly is usually telling you the o-rings have gone hard or flat, not that the valve body has failed. The kit is inexpensive and is the sensible first move. Once the valve is apart, fit every seal in the kit rather than replacing one and putting the rest back.
