The Polaris C45 is the lock washer that belongs with the C36 swing axle assembly on the Polaris 180 and 280 pressure side pool cleaners. It is the genuine Polaris part.
What it does
The swing axle carries load every second the cleaner is running, and vibration slowly works fasteners loose. The lock washer holds tension against the fastener so the axle stays where it was set. Once a washer has been flattened by a previous assembly it will not do that job again reliably.
When to replace it
Fit a new one any time the swing axle assembly is taken apart, and any time you find the axle hardware loose. It is a small part that saves a repeat repair.
