The Polaris D11 is the genuine feed hose float in black for the 380 and 280 pool cleaners. It is a hard plastic float that fits 3/4" pool cleaner hose.
What it does
Floats carry the feed hose so it rides above the pool floor instead of lying on it. That keeps the hose out of the way of the cleaner and stops it from dragging over the surfaces the cleaner has just done.
Replacing them
Floats crack, split and go missing over a season. Count what is on your hose now, and replace any that are broken or gone so the hose is supported along its length rather than only at one end.
