Product details
The Polaris 48-222 is the in-line filter screen for the 280, 380, 3900 Sport, 480 PRO and 280 TankTrax pressure side cleaners. It is the genuine Polaris part, made of metal.
What it does
The in-line filter sits in the feed hose and catches sand and grit before the water reaches the cleaner. The screen is the working part inside it. Kept clean, it protects the jets and bearings of the cleaner from the debris the booster pump would otherwise push through them.
When to replace it
Rinse the screen whenever the cleaner starts to slow down. Once the mesh is torn, or so packed that rinsing no longer brings the flow back, replace it. A blocked screen shows up as low pressure at the cleaner and a slow, wandering cleaning pattern.

This listing is the screen alone. If the filter body itself is cracked, the complete in-line filter assembly is a separate Polaris part.
