The Polaris C16 is the small idler wheel for the Polaris 180 and Polaris 280 pool cleaners, molded in white plastic. It is the genuine OEM part, also listed as C-16.
What it does
Unlike the large drive wheels, the idler wheel simply rolls along with the cleaner. Its job is to carry and guide, so a wheel that has seized, worn flat or cracked adds drag rather than stopping the cleaner outright. The symptom is usually uneven tracking, a cleaner that pulls to one side, or one that stalls in corners.
Before you order
The 280 Black Max uses a different small idler wheel, so check which model you have. While the cleaner is on the deck, look at the wheel screws, washers and ball bearings too, since they wear on a similar schedule and reach the end together.
