Polaris C65 is the large rear axle for the 280 and 180 pool cleaners. It is the genuine Zodiac made part, molded in plastic, and it serves the rear wheel on the double wheel side.
The failure it fixes
Wheels on a Polaris take a beating: they run against plaster, they carry the cleaner up walls, and the axle is the thin part in the middle of all of it. When an owner finds a wheel lying at the bottom of the pool or hanging off the frame, a broken axle is the usual cause rather than anything wrong with the wheel itself.
Getting the right one
Polaris uses more than one axle on these cleaners. This is the large axle without a guard, for the rear wheel on the double wheel side. There is a separate part for the large axle with a sand guard, so look at what came off before ordering.
While you are in there
A cleaner that has broken one axle is usually due for a wider look. Check the remaining wheels, the bearings inside them and the tail sweep hose at the same time, since it saves a second teardown a month later.
