The Polaris D26 is the female half of the quick disconnect used on the Polaris 180 pressure pool cleaner. It is the genuine Polaris part, molded in plastic.
What it does
The quick disconnect is the joint that lets the cleaner come off the feed line without tools, for storage, for a swim or for service. It carries pressurized water every time the cleaner runs, and it takes the strain each time somebody pulls the cleaner out of the pool.
When to replace it
Disconnects wear out. The plastic loses its grip, the sealing surfaces score, and the joint starts spraying or will not lock at all. That costs the cleaner the pressure it needs to work properly, so the fitting is worth replacing rather than taping. This is the female side; the male plug is a separate Polaris part, so identify which half has failed before ordering.
