Deck-O-Seal Deck-O-Shield Waterfall & Stone Sealer, 1 Gallon, 3460210

Deck-O-Shield is a ready to use, water-based sealer and water repellent for natural stone, concrete and masonry. It was developed for pool waterfalls, where it limits how much water soaks into structurally sound, crack-free surfaces, and it works just as well on stone decks, coping, walkways and patios.

Salt, stains and efflorescence

Once a surface is treated, salts have a harder time penetrating it, which cuts down the whitening and staining that salt water leaves on rock features. It also protects against efflorescence and rust staining, helps the surface shrug off spills, and reduces the dirt and contaminants that settle in and discolor stone over time.

Application

Clean the surface thoroughly and let it dry. It can go on slightly damp stone, but a clean, dry, absorbent surface gives the best penetration and the longest service. Apply with a brush, roller or low-pressure sprayer under 50 psi, with a fan tip if spraying. Keep surface and air temperatures between 40 and 95 F during application and for eight hours afterward. Always test a small area on each type of surface first to check appearance and coverage.

Coverage

One gallon covers roughly 75 to 175 sq ft of natural stone, 100 to 175 sq ft of concrete or masonry, 60 to 100 sq ft of stucco and 50 to 100 sq ft of concrete block. Porous stone and block can need considerably more, sometimes a second coat. When dry the finish is matte and the surface looks virtually unchanged. Sealers and other chemical products are non-returnable once shipped.
