Deck-O-Seal pour grade is a two part, polysulfide based joint sealant, supplied here in a 96 oz. redwood kit. It is a premium grade, self leveling formula for the joints and cracks in the deck around a swimming pool.
Why self leveling matters
A pour grade sealant is mixed and poured into the joint, where it settles flat on its own. There is no tooling and no ridge left standing proud, which is what you want on a surface people walk on barefoot.
Expansion joints
The joint between a pool deck and the coping or a slab is there so the two can move separately with temperature. Sealing it keeps water and grit out of the gap. When the old sealant hardens, shrinks or pulls away from one side, it stops doing that job and is due for replacement.
