Product details

The Aquabond DMK-5000 is an underwater repair starter kit built around the UW-5000 epoxy compound. It is white, and it is meant for pools and spas where the damage is below the waterline.

Why underwater matters

Most structural repair products want a dry, prepared surface, which on a pool means dropping the water and losing days. This compound is made to be applied and to bond while submerged, so a crack or a leak can be dealt with where it is. The kit is listed for cracks, leaks and repairs to fiberglass and PVC.

What is in the box

The itemized kit contents are a UW-5000 50ml tube of underwater repair compound, a DM-50 dispensing gun and a bag of five SM-5416 static mixer tips. The compound goes into the gun, the mixer tip goes on the end, and the material comes out ready to place. Once you have the gun and tips, later repairs only need another cartridge.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Do I have to drain the pool to use it?
No. The compound is formulated for underwater application, which is the whole point of the kit.
What exactly comes in the kit?
The itemized kit list is one UW-5000 50ml tube of underwater repair compound, one DM-50 dispensing gun and one bag of five SM-5416 static mixer tips. The longer product description also refers to polyethylene film and a manual, so confirm the packing list with us if those two items matter to you.
What surfaces is it listed for?
Cracks and leaks, and repairs to fiberglass and PVC, in pools and spas.
Can I buy just the compound later?
The compound in this kit is the UW-5000 50ml cartridge, so that is the part number to reorder once the gun and tips are on hand.
