Product details

Deck-O-Foam 1411030 is a 100 ft roll of 1/4 in. thick, 3 in. wide expansion joint filler from Deck-O-Seal. It sets a uniform joint between a pool coping or existing slab and a new deck pour, with a ready made slot on top for the sealant.

Installing it

Tape or fasten the strip to the existing edge or the form before the concrete arrives, and keep its top flush with the finished deck surface. After finishing, pull the pre-scored strip off the top and seal the slot with Deck-O-Seal. The foam left below sets the sealant depth and acts as a bond breaker, so the sealant holds to the two sides of the joint only.

Choosing a size

1/4 in. is the narrowest joint Deck-O-Seal is made for. For a 1/2 in. joint, use Deck-O-Foam 1413030. Both are closed cell polyethylene that will not take on water, stain the concrete or break down in sun and pool water.

How long is the roll?
100 ft of 1/4 in. thick by 3 in. wide foam. The 1/2 in. thick version, 1413030, comes in 50 ft rolls.
Is 1/4 in. wide enough for Deck-O-Seal?
Yes. 1/4 in. is the narrowest joint Deck-O-Seal is rated for, so this foam sets the minimum width. Wider joints take the 1/2 in. foam.
Does the foam need to be removed before sealing?
Only the pre-scored strip on top comes out. The rest stays in the joint as the backing under the sealant.
