Product details

This is the Caretaker pop up threaded cleaning head in white, part 3-9-515, made for the Caretaker In-Floor Cleaning System. It measures 3.5 inches by 2 inches and threads into the collar fitting with a quarter turn.

What it does

An in-floor system works by sending pressurized water to a group of heads at a time. Each head rises out of the floor, sweeps its jet across the surrounding surface, and drops back flush while the next zone takes its turn. Debris gets pushed toward the main drain rather than being left for a cleaner to find.

When to replace one

Heads cycle up and down thousands of times a season, and they eventually stick down, stick up, or wear out the nozzle so the sweep loses its reach. The usual sign is one patch of floor that stays dirty while the rest of the pool comes clean. Replacing the head in that zone is normally all that is needed.
