Quick overview

  • Genuine Piranha part The factory PA-875 lip for the wide mouth frame.
  • Wide mouth version Sized for the wide mouth net, not the standard frame, so check which one you own before ordering.
  • The part that wears The lip is the leading edge dragged across plaster and tile, so it chips and wears long before the net or the frame does.
  • Cheaper than a new net A worn lip is a repair, not a reason to replace a working frame and bag.
  • Plastic construction Molded plastic, as supplied on the original net.
  • Protects the pool surface A chipped or missing lip puts bare frame against the finish, which is worth fixing before it scratches something.

Product details

The Piranha PA-875 is the replacement plastic lip for the wide mouth pool net. It is the strip along the front of the frame, the part that runs along the pool floor and walls while you work.

Why it wears first

Everything else on a net stays out of contact with the pool. The lip does not. It is dragged across plaster, tile and steps every time the net is used, and it chips and thins out long before the bag or the frame gives up. Replacing it costs a fraction of a new net.

Check the size

This is the wide mouth lip. Compare it against the frame you are repairing before ordering, since the standard frame takes a different part.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What is the lip for?
It is the leading edge on the front of the net frame, the part that runs along the floor and walls while you skim or scoop.
Will it fit a standard net?
This is the wide mouth version. Compare the lip you are removing against the frame width before ordering.
Do I get the net as well?
No. This is the replacement plastic lip only.
Why replace a worn lip?
Once the lip is chipped or gone, the frame itself contacts the pool surface, and a bare frame will mark plaster and tile.
